2024 proved to be one of the most turbulent and eventful years in modern CPA history, defined by constant warfare, sweeping structural changes, and repeated cycles of collapse and rebirth. The year opened amidst the Christmas Crusade, a sprawling coalition war that ended in an uneasy truce, but effectively announced Elite Guardians as a dominant force early on. What followed was a relentless sequence of conflicts, including decisive wars involving the Water Vikings, Army of Club Penguin, and Templars, alongside major tournaments such as March Madness IX, claimed by the Water Vikings, Legends Cup XIV, snagged by the Help Force, and Christmas Chaos XIV, the latter ultimately claimed by the Rebel Penguin Federation. The year also saw the introduction of Around The World Cup, won by the Elite Guardians. This way, the early stages of 2024 revealed a constant power switch between ACP, EGCP, and WV. Throughout the year, leadership turnover became a defining theme as veteran figures retired, armies rose to Major status only to fall months later, and once-defunct names returned while others vanished. Alliances fractured, scandals ended long-standing alliances, and internal power struggles brought both meteoric growth and abrupt shutdowns, most notably with Secret Service and its rapid successor, Doritos, who were the main faces of late 2024, with their rapid growth and huge controversies. What looked like an indomitable force was stopped by the RPF on the CCXIV finals, with both armies maxing over 90. Ultimately, the Rebels, under the leadership of Link3000, won the tournament and ended the year as the top 1 army. Beyond the battlefield, CPA itself underwent a significant transformation with the end of Mchappy’s era and the inauguration of Coolguy and Mare’s Administration. This renewed administrative direction ensured that CPA ended the year battered, reshaped, but very much alive.
Link3000
Link3000 joined the Rebel Penguin Federation in June 2020 during the surge brought on by the COVID lockdowns. Rapidly rising through the ranks, Link became part of RPF’s staff team by late 2020 and continued their ascent to HCOM, before joining the army’s leadership in May 2022. One of their early major victories as a leader came during the Summer Sovereignty War with Templars. Under their leadership, RPF also clinched the title in the fiercely contested Christmas Chaos XIII. The momentum carried into 2023 as RPF secured another victory in the March Madness tournament. Throughout their tenure, RPF has remained a significant force within the army community, notably playing a pivotal role during World War IX. Link’s leadership has been crucial in maintaining RPF’s Major status in the Top Ten Armies, which has never wavered despite the challenging times that saw other armies falter. In 2024, Link further demonstrated their leadership prowess while co-leading RPF alongside Gabgeirl, marking a new era for the army. Despite the dramatic nature of the conflict, Link led RPF through an unbeaten streak in a lengthy war against Secret Service, being honoured as an “RPF Icon” in the RPF Hall of Fame for their efforts. Under Link’s stewardship, RPF has seen consistent growth and an increase in size throughout the year, raising a new generation of staff and boosting the server membership to 15,000—the strongest growth seen in years. RPF’s successful year culminated in a 3-0 victory and a max of 86 against DCP in the Christmas Chaos tournament final. Link’s multifaceted leadership and involvement in the broader army community, particularly through their work with the Top Ten Committee in various CPA organisations over the years, highlight their versatile and diplomatic nature, fostering strong bonds both within RPF and the wider community.
